Some facts about the new farm of Wilke BV
So the Mushroom farm was rebuilt in 2009, after that huge fire which destroyed the farm in 2007. In those 2 years I visited a lot of mushroom farms and technical companies. I spoke with many specialists about many important subjects for the assurance of a good future. With tons of information and ideas, I came to the conclusion that I needed the most innovative company in the mushroom industry to help me with brainstorming and designing; that was Panbo systems bv, a company which can really think out of the box.
So Panbo systems bv designed the new farm with me. The focus was on the best possible climate for the rooms and air distribution system, energy saving, sustainability and convenience. Panbo came up with several ground-breaking ideas, which were transformed to usable products.
Traco bv delivered the self-driving picking lorries. These lorries were redesigned to have more ease with picking for Wilke bv.. This new company now has the total growing surface is 4800 square metres over 9 rooms and with a growing surface of 535 square metres. The farm also has a Dutch shelving system with 2 rows per room. The rows are 7 layers high.
Wilke BV is specialized in white button mushrooms; all handpicked for the fresh market.
